I am a loved one/friend
If you have found this site because someone you care about has lung cancer, welcome. Whether you are a person who will be going to doctor’s appointments and providing care for the person with cancer or you are a concerned friend, you will find much information here to help the person in your life facing lung cancer.
This site can help you feel more comfortable with the language of medicine and the process of treating lung cancer. It can help you be more aware of the physical demands as well as the emotions that the person with lung cancer is experiencing. It may also help you understand the emotions you may be feeling. There are support groups for caregivers, too, where you can find out how others coped and share your feelings. Sometimes, it helps being around others who are walking the same path. CancerCare offers practical advice and support for people like you.
This site was developed with input from healthcare providers and patients. It is intended to increase your practical understanding of lung cancer, as well as awareness of the many support options that are available for patients and caregivers. Please let us know if there are areas that are not included in this site that you would find useful. You can contact us at info@cancercare.org.
