Press Room
Lungcancer.org is a project of CancerCare, a national nonprofit organization that provides free, professional support services to anyone affected by cancer: people with cancer, caregivers, children, loved ones, and the bereaved. CancerCare programs — including counseling, education, financial assistance and practical help — are provided by trained oncology social workers and are completely free of charge. Founded in 1944, CancerCare now provides individual help to more than 91,000 people each year, in addition to the 1.6 million people who gain information and resources from its website.
In 1998, CancerCare founded lungcancer.org as part of our ongoing programs for people with lung cancer. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in men and women, and we have developed a wide range of programs to meet the needs of the more than 200,000 people a year who are diagnosed with this disease.
The goal of lungcancer.org is to be a source of support and information for our lung cancer patients and their loved ones. In addition to this website, you may also utilize CancerCare's free professional supportive services.
